The following is an example of a normal week at the surf camp, and we strive to run the week as indicated. However, if you choose only to stay 4 days with us, you might miss some surf experiences. The best surf is based on weather conditions, so we might therefore alter the itinerary in order to provide you with the best surf every single day.
Arrival day pickup includes driver transport from LAX, San Diego and Orange County airports. Hotels and hostels within 10 miles of airports also included.
Based on your arrival details, we know exactly when and where to pick you up. You'll be picked up at the most convenient time and place according to your travel schedule.
Once picked up, you'll be driven approximately 1-2 hours to Dana Point depending on traffic. Your driver/surf guide will be able to get straight to the action and explain everything you need to know about your upcoming stay. Once to the the hotel , you'll be checked in, prepped on upcoming activities and be ready for a surf session the following morning. Meet others in the camp, grab some dinner, and get some rest. Because tomorrow you’ll be getting right into a guided, morning surf lesson.
Surf's up! After breakfast, you will meet our experienced surf guides who are ready to take you out on your first day of surfing. Before hitting the waves, beginners will get an introduction on surfing theory, etiquette and safety. If this is your first time surfing, your instructor will stay with you in the whitewater to steady your board and give you tips along the way. If you already know the basics, then simply get into the water and start catching waves. But you can be sure the guide is there to help, and offer useful advice. By the end of the session, our goal is to have you riding your first waves of the trip. After lunch you can head back in the water to improve on what you learned, and in the evening you can get to know your fellow surfers at a local bar or restaurant and at the hotel. Be ready to chill!
