Start off your trip in Cancun, Mexico with an airport pickup on Day 1 and travel to Playa del Carmen for a free day at the beach on Day 2. Transfer to Merida on Day 3 to visit the world famous Chichen Itza on Day 4 and the stunning Uxmal Mayan ruins on Day 5 before taking a night bus to Palenque to explore the famous ruins, Agua Azul & Misol Ha Waterfalls on Day 6. On Day 7 see the Yaxchilan and Bonampak Ruins in the Lacandon Jungle before transferring to Flores, Guatemala on Day 8 to visit the breathtaking Tikal ruins at dawn on Day 9. Arrive at Caye Caulker island in Belize on Day 10 for some optional snorkelling and a free day on Day 11. Return to Mexico on Day 12 to rest up in paradisiacal Tulum on Day 13 and end your trip on Day 14 with an airport drop-off in Cancun.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1 - Airport Pickup in Cancun
You will be picked up at the Cancun Airport upon arrival and taken to your accommodation for the night.
Day 2 - Transfer to Playa del Carmen
Take a bus transfer to the coastal town of Playa del Carmen. Enjoy a free day to relax on Playa del Carmen's beaches and experience its busy nightlife after dinner if you wish.
Day 3 - Transfer to Merida
Take an afternoon transfer from Playa del Carmen to Merida, a beautiful colonial town with a relaxed pace.
Day 4 - Chichen Itza Day Trip
Depart Merida today for a day trip to the captivating archaeological site of Chichen Itza, one of the new 7 wonders of the world.
*NOTE REGARDING LUNCH: We will make a stop for a buffet lunch at a cost of $150 pesos to be paid locally.
Day 5 - Day Trip to Uxmal and Kabah & Night bus to Palenque
Go on a day trip to Uxmal and Kabah.Visit the amazing Uxmal archaeological site, one of the greatest Mayan ceremonial centers with buildings that are beautifully carved and decorated.You'll also get the chance to see the equally spectacular Kabah pyramids that boast intricate stone carvings. After your day trip, take a night bus to Palenque.
Day 6 - Palenque Ruins, Agua Azul & Misol-Ha Waterfalls Day Tour
Be captivated by a day trip to the fascinating Palenque Ruins, hidden in the jungle, followed by a visit to the breathtaking Agua Azul and Misol-Ha Waterfalls for a refreshing dip in translucent blue waters. Return to Palenque afterwards.
Day 7 - 2D/1N Trip to Yaxchilan and Bonampak (B/L/D)
Immerse yourself deep in the Lacandon jungle on a 2-day trip to see the impressive Yaxchilan and Bonampak archaeological sites, which are only accessible by boat. These remote and mystical archaeological sites are both unique for their architecture, history, murals, engravings and lintels. Learn the local Mayan way of life by visiting an indigenous community and experiencing the traditions and customs first-hand. Spend the night in rustic cabins at the Lacanja Community.
Day 8 - 2D/1N Trip to Yaxchilan and Bonampak & Transfer to Flores (B/L)
Go for a jungle walk in Lacanja and swim in one of many refreshing streams in the morning. Then take a transfer to Flores, crossing the border into Guatemala and arriving in the evening.
Day 9 - Tikal Morning Tour
Visit the impressive Tikal Archaeological Site at dawn and experience the jungle as it comes alive in the early hours of the morning. Learn about this former Maya citadel, once one of the largest and most powerful civilization in Meso America, by exploring the site and taking advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to marvel at majestic pyramids hidden away in the jungle.
Day 10 - Transfer from Flores to Caye Caulker via Belize City
Take a bus transfer from Flores to Belize City followed by a water taxi transfer to the island of Caye Caulker.
Day 11 - Free Day in Caye Caulker
Enjoy a free day to snorkel or scuba dive (optional activities) at the Belize Barrier Reef to see manta rays, sharks and sea turtles in an unbelievably beautiful natural scenery. You can take part in other optional activities today or simply rest on beautiful beaches and do nothing.
Day 12 - Transfer to Tulum via Chetumal
Take a water taxi to Chetumal and then catch a bus to Tulum.
Day 13 - Free Day in Tulum
Relax on Tulum's stunning beaches and/or take a trip on your own to see the superb Tulum archaeological site, located on a cliff overlooking the ocean.
Day 14 - Cancun Airport Drop-off
You will be transferred to the Cancun airport today in order to catch your flight back home. Return home with your head full of amazing memories.
